What started as a hobby with a simple personal web site, turned into more.
In 1997 I started to play around with web site codes. Starting with the simple free hosting site tools, I started my
own little web site. A corner of the web for me, I talked about my favorite band and hobbies. As time went on, I grew tired of the limitations that came with the
point and click freebie tool provided by the free hosting service. I wanted to make something that stood out, so I started to play around and pick things a part.
I was teaching myself the tricks of the trade.
A repeat visitor was impressed with the advancements and commented that I should try my hand at making web sites - and idea sparked!
In 1998, after more self teachings and experiments with graphics and theme's "Amanda's Web Design" was opened. Services were limited to web site design, set up and
photo scanning. As the business grew, I found that client needs had also. I changed the name to "Purple Butterfly Productions". Services expanded, adding graphic design, search
engine submittal, and hosting services. As hosting services were short lived, the other new additions worked out well.
I found myself doing private consultations, support and redesign work. I also found myself experimenting once again, this time with Photos. Turning people into
things like angels and fairies was wildly popular amongst friends, so I added it to my services. With this addition I felt that once again, my business grew and with it this time so did I.
"Purple Butterfly Productions" not only no longer felt right, but it was to long. People had to hard a time remembering it, so it was time for a final name change.
I was once told by a friend that I was an artist, the screen was my pallet and the codes and graphics were my paint. I kept this flattering statement in mind when picking my name.
I wanted simple, catchy, and something that could describe what I did as a whole. In 2003, my business received its new and final name "Abstractionz".
For as long as I can remember, I have been taking photos of anything and everything. In 2006, this hobby found its way into my work. As clients needed photos of
their products and businesses, I started showing up camera in hand.
To this day, I take pride in every project I take on. I enjoy meeting new people, hearing their story and helping them get what they need, done.
